A Weekend In Vegas

In December, we ventured to Las Vegas for a quick weekend escape. I didn't get to shoot many cars (too busy winning $$$ haha - see below)...

...but I did shoot two and I'm very psyched to post them here. First, there was a big fight in town that weekend, De La Hoya vs. Pacquiao, and the stars were out in full force.

I caught a glimpse of this luxury ride, the Maybach 62, outside the MGM Grand. Jay-Z brags about pimping around town in Maybachs and since he was in town for the fight, this may have been his ride.

Maybach 62 cost:
€431,055 / $392,750

Maybach 62 specs:
The Maybach 62 includes many luxury features such as fully-reclining rear seats, Maybach 4 zone climate control, tinted-windows, infrared-reflecting laminated glass all round, AirMATIC dual control air suspension, display instruments in rear roof liner (showing speed, time and outside temperature), folding rear tables (left and right), BOSE Surround Everywhere sound system and a refrigerator compartment. The Maybach 62 also includes an array of additional features such as Cockpit Management and Navigation System (COMAND), which includes DVD navigation, CD changer in rear seats, DVD players and TV tuners front and rear, two rear LCD TV screens including remote control and two sets of headphones, and automatic closing doors. Even though the Maybach 62 has all these features included, optional extras are available. Some of these optional extras include a panoramic glass sun roof at a cost of $11,670 and an external communication system, which includes a loudspeaker and microphone system which allows the occupant in the rear of the Maybach to talk and listen to the people outside the car. This option comes at a cost of $1,780. A further option for the Maybach is a retractable electrotransparent partition screen between the driver and the rear occupants, at $23,780. The most expensive option for the Maybach is a high protection GUARD B4 Package which costs $151,810.

My second shoot was of one of my all-time favorite rides - the Lotus Elise:

INTRODUCING THE 2009 DODGE CHALLENGER SRT8
I was fortunate to shoot this ride shortly after it hit the market. Marie Bernicker of Bernicker Dodge in Cornwall, NY was generous enough to let me jump in and grab some shots of this beauty. I could have spent way more time shooting it, but there was a big crowd and I wasn't the only one ogling it. Here are some highlights:

What does SRT stand for? Street and Racing Technology (SRT) is Chrysler's in-house performance engineering organization that focuses on five pillars for every SRT vehicle: bold exterior design that resonates with the brand image, a race-inspired interior, world-class ride and handling across a dynamic range, a standout powertrain and benchmark braking.

What are the specs? The 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT8 offers an available six-speed manual transmission or standard five-speed automatic transmission mated to the SRT-exclusive 6.1-liter HEMI V-8 engine that produces 425 horsepower (317 kW) and 420 lb.-ft. (569 N•m) of torque. New for 2009 is a standard limited-slip differential, High Performance Red and B5 Blue (late availability) exterior paint and black hood stripes. A classic "pistol-grip" shifter is included with the available Track Pak which includes the Tremec TR-6060 six-speed manual transmission with Hill-start Assist.

What are some other features? Other standard features on the 2009 Dodge Challenger SRT8 include a race-inspired interior featuring performance seats with a red accent stripe and added bolstering which keeps customers in place under spirited driving conditions, four-bomb gauges with tachometer and 180 mph speedometer in the center, "Performance Pages" reconfigurable display that features 0 – 60 mph, 1/4 mile, and 1/8 mile times, uconnect gps, unique SRT-tuned ESP and ABS calibrations, 20-inch fully-forged aluminum wheels, red, painted Brembo brakes, hood with functional dual hood scoops, functional black painted rear spoiler and a unique exhaust note.
